MOSSEL BAY SOCCER NEWS - After an extremely difficult year, Mossel Bay's Peace Makers football club retained the trophy in the SAFA Eden Top 8 Tournament held in Oudtshoorn.
It took place on the weekend of 28 May.
Peace Makers won the title last year, playing in the final against Black Cats of George and this year won it again, playing against FC United of Knysna.
The final score this year was 2-0. The goals were scored by stand-in captain Mandilakhe Mlinda and Asemahle Bobelo.
Peace Makers started the quarterfinals against Moonlight FC (Dysselsdorp), winning 4-2. The Peace Makers' semifinal clash was against the SA Army of Oudtshoorn, which Peace Makers won 2-1. The winning goal was scored by the captain.
Peace Makers had a difficult end to the league this year and wanted to "wake up for the season" by defending their Top 8 title.

Coach Lewellyn Brown said: "I as the coach and the management team thank the players for their hard work and courage they showed during the tournament.
"Once again, it was an honour and privilege to win back to back with the team again. Credit must be given to the Lord for guiding us and giving us the strength to pull this off. As a team, we are strong believers in the Word of God. And through God we achieved the victory."
We thank Oom André and Masshire for their yearly contribution to the team since 2014. We appreciate your constant love and support for the team. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We could not have come this far without you.
