MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Learners from Mossel Bay's Isalathiso Primary School competed in a tournament for children who are older than 13 years, but still in primary school.
Isalathiso won the soccer section of the tournament.
The event was held at Phakamisani Primary School in Plettenberg Bay on 14 September.
The reason for this tournament is that these learners do not get the chance to play in the usual fixtures for primary schools because of their older age.
Every year
Called the Over Age tournament, it is held every year for schools in the Garden Route area and a different school has the chance to host it each year.
The tournament is for rugby, soccer and netball teams and Isalathiso entered teams in each of these codes, but it was Isalathiso's boys' soccer team that excelled. In the rugby and soccer sections, girls also take part.
The soccer results were: Thembelitsha 2-3 Isalathiso, TM Ndanda 0-1 Isalathiso, Mzoxolo 0-3 Isalathiso, Phakamisani 1-2 Isalathiso.
