SWD must beat Limpopo Impalas

CRICKET NEWS - The Six-Gun Grill SWD cricket team is in Polokwane, playing a match against Limpopo Impalas in the Cricket South Africa Division 2 Four-Day competition.

Jean du Plessis needs an outright victory in his ambition to win the Four-Day competition. The match started yesterday, Thursday 27 January.

SWD is currently third on the log at 49.32 points after three matches. The Tuskers from KZN Inland are the log leaders at 73.72 points after four matches, followed by Northern Cape Heat at 63.18 points after three matches.

All-rounder Onke Nyaku had to withdraw from the team due to a hamstring injury while Jhedli van Briesies is fit again after he missed the previous match. Herschell America will get his first taste of red-ball cricket this season as he replaced Renaldo Meyer.

Leus du Plooy (252 runs at an average of 84.00) is currently second with the batting averages and his teammate, Sean Whitehead, second in the bowling averages - 21 wickets at an average of 10.42.
