CRICKET NEWS - The pool stages and preliminary rounds of the Six Gun Grill SWD Twenty/20 league were concluded last weekend and although rain and wet outfields had the final say in some matches, which had to be abandoned, some fixtures were concluded.
The eight teams that qualified for the quarterfinals to be played on 29 October, are: Knysna Cavaliers vs George, Harlequins Forces vs Mossel Bay, Pacaltsdorp United vs Riversdale, Union Stars vs Sussex.
Onke Nyaku, the captain of the Garden Route Badgers, was the star performer during the weekend.
Playing for Mossel Bay, he excelled with the ball, with results of 2/9 against Mayflower and 7/9 against KwaNonqaba. He also posted a half-century (52) against KwaNonqaba.
