This rapid expansion follows on successful results yielded by similar development programs elsewhere in the region.
The program, which has been running for the past four seasons, has seen both Thembalethu Cricket Club and Bongolethu Cricket Club finish third in their respective legs of the promotion league. Thembalethu participated in the T20 competition and progressed to the second phase of the competition.
These clubs have come on in leaps and bounds, achieving successes that still elude many established clubs. The completion of facilities in Thembalethu, Bongolethu and Kwanonqaba is also a huge step forward in the quest to nurture emerging talent and develop an interest in the game within all communities.
