MOSSEL BAY CRICKET NEWS - It was a disappointing weekend for Jean du Plessis and his troops when they suffered defeats in both the Three- and One Day matches of their Cricket SA Provincial competition fixtures played against Northerns in Pretoria last weekend.
In the Three-Day competition, the visitors, who won the toss and elected to bat, only managed to score 98, after which Northerns replied with a massive 444/4.
SWD were bowled out for 164 in their second innings for a defeat by an innings and 182 runs.
In the limited over match on Sunday, SWD were dismissed for 100.
Northerns only needed 20.3 overs to reach the target – 101/2 – for a comprehensive eight-wicket victory.
SWD will now have time to regroup for the second half of the season, when they still have six three- and one-day matches left. Their next match is against Eastern Province, starting on 18 January 2020.
