SOUTHERN CAPE - Athletics SWD sent a team of eight athletes to participate at the annual SA Road Race Walking Championships that was held in Ysterplaat, Cape Town.

The athletes brought home two medals and two new records.

*The results are as follows:
David Morgan-Smith (75-79 years) 10km 1:08.36 - gold medal and new SA Masters Record; Frankie Whiteford (65-69 years) 10km 1:12.00; 6th; Mariaan Barnard (18-19 years) 10km 1:03.47; 4th; Elwich Van Wyk (14-15 years) 5km 25.46; silver medal and new SWD Record; Dullan Solomons (14-15 years) 5km 28.26; 4th; Jerome Ferland (14-15 years) 5km 29.12; 6th ; Bradley Witbooi (14-15 years) 5km 30.52; 8th; Darryl Solomons (14-15 years) 5km - did not finish. The team was manage by Amanda Stripp and Rosa-Linda Kock.
