MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A Hartenbos Drawwers athlete, Magda Lach, recently took part in an extreme event.
The Rhodes Ultra Run starts from and finishes in the village of Rhodes and took place on 29 June.
The race distance is 52km and runners have to walk through mountain streams and may have to contend with snow, icy conditions and wet and slippery surfaces, as well as strong winds.
Competitors reach the highest point of the run when they pass Lesotho View (2 680m), whereafter they again descend to Rhodes.
Magda was the first woman to finish in the 50-plus age group in a time of 08:08:29.
