NATIONAL NEWS - Up to seven Orcas (Killer Whales) were spotted in False Bay on Sunday.
Thanks to Simon’s Town Boat Company possessing the necessary permits to go into the waters, the whole encounter was captured!
According to the company’s Facebook page, the pod was seen in the deeper waters of Buffels Bay.
One male, three or four females and two calves frolicked while seals reportedly took no notice.
Killer whale sightings in Cape Town have increased steadily over the years.
But, Orca sightings in Cape Town are still rare events, so each encounter should be treasured, as researchers intensity their research efforts to find out just how many orcas there are in the deep Atlantic waters.
