POLITICAL NEWS - Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has asked the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in Johannesburg to elect a national executive committee (NEC) that consists of people who aren't in politics to enrich themselves.
Ramaphosa joined the Umkhonto we Sizwe veterans at their national elective conference in Nasrec on Saturday.
Shortly after that event, he delivered the keynote address at the 73rd anniversary of the ANCYL at the Hillbrow Theater organised by Johannesburg youth league branches.
Ramaphosa quoted Maya Angelou’s poem I Rise in his closing at the MK veterans’ conference but improvised the ending turning to his presidential aspirations.
“I want to rise so that the African National Congress can rise. I want to rise so that South African can rise.”
