Western Cape considers increasing water tariffs
The Western Cape Environmental Affairs Department says an increase in water tariffs may be implemented.
NATIONAL NEWS - The Western Cape Environmental Affairs Department says an increase in water tariffs may be implemented.

This is one of the short-term measures the provincial government is considering to try and ensure residents use water more responsibly.

Local Government and Environmental Affairs MEC Anton Bredell says no restrictions have been imposed for now.

“All our municipalities are very worried, they will communicate to the public, but we’ve made provision within our budget system for stepping tariffs. That means you will pay more as you use more water.”
