Pistorius was released last week after a year in prison for shooting dead Reeva through a locked toilet door in their bedroom in the early hours of Valentine’s Day in 2013.
“I think I will get more closure one day if I get the chance to speak to Oscar myself,” Steenkamp said in a TV interview.
“Most probably I wouldn’t have to say anything. I will just have to look at him … but that is what I would like to do one day.”
Pistorius will serve the rest of his five-year sentence for culpable homicide under house arrest.
During his six-month trial, he said he shot Reeva, a model and law graduate, because he mistook her for an intruder.
