“It was heartbreaking. No parent should ever go through something like this,” she said.
She said she had opened a case against the learners who attacked her son. This was confirmed by Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police.
The pupil’s mother said he was traumatised after the incident. She goes on to explain that he suffered various physical injuries but luckily none of which were serious.
“Basically, on his hand, some of the bones on his hand moved back from the kicks that he got on the hand itself. He had bruises, a broken lip… but thank God he didn’t get severely injured,” she told Steenkamp.
