SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Kealeboga Molale said the incident occurred Monday afternoon at around 14:30 in Ellaton, Klerksdorp.
“Petrus Segano allegedly shot dead his wife, Kelebogile Segano, 44, and turned the gun on himself.”
Molale said paramedics were called to the scene by a neighbour.
“When they arrived they heard a gunshot.”
The paramedics then called the police to the scene, where the two bodies of the husband and wife were found lying dead on the floor with gun wounds.
A case of murder and inquest have been opened for investigation.
Investigation into the matter continues.
