NATIONAL NEWS - The K9 search and rescue unit in the Eastern Cape has retrieved the body of a man who was murdered earlier this month and thrown over a cliff at the Magwa waterfall in Lusikisiki.

Police colonel Ernest Sigobe says the man was murdered on the 9th of September, allegedly by family members, following an altercation.

He says the K9 unit worked under extremely difficult conditions and used different rope techniques to lower themselves 100 meters to the bottom of the cliff.

After an extensive search, the body was discovered and hoisted out of the gorge.

Sigobe says police have since arrested three family members who made a brief appearance in court on Tuesday.
