NATIONAL NEWS - Sturns, a business rescue practice, says Vantage Goldfields will be hosting a remembrance service at Lily Mine on Sunday in honour of the three mineworkers who are believed to have died when a sinkhole caused a collapse at the mine last year.

It says the commemoration will be held in partnership with the families of the deceased, the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union and the Mineral Resources Department.

Sunday will be exactly one year since Yvonne Mnisi, Pretty Nkambule and Solomon Nyerende were trapped underground when the container they were working in caved in.

Mnisi's partner Christopher says he is still heartbroken.

“It’s really painful, but when death arrives it can’t be stopped. It is really painful.”
