KNYSNA NEWS - The Greater Knysna fires are currently contained, with majority of the firefighting resources concentrating on the Concordia area and the line toward Sedgefield, monitoring any possible flare-ups.
The Fire Station’s emergency number is up and running and the public is asked to call 044 302 8911 should they need assistance.
Knysna CBD’s water supply still stable.
Trucks are currently distributing bottled water in Simola, Brenton-on-Sea and Lake (at the Community Hall and Nautilus), Belvidere and Knysna Heights and Buffels Bay.
A water trailer is available in Knysna Heights and White Location areas where suspected breaks in the infrastructure have seen sporadic interruptions in the water supply.
The Knysna reservoir levels are increasing. Public are requested to contact Water Services on 044 302 6441 to report any leaks.
The technical teams are currently working to restore power to areas affected.

UPDATE FROM EDEN HEALTH
Eden Health has declared that there no issues with food or water safety.
However, there are potential health complications that may arise from the ash caused by the fire. Should any persons experience respiratory problems, they are advised to immediately contact their local medical professional.
There have been reports of thefts and crime perpetrated by criminals taking advantage of the disaster. Such incidents, if witnessed, must be reported to the Police on 044 302 6600.
All animals can still be sent to KAWS who have enough food. Animal fodder for rural areas is also being provided.
