NATIONAL NEWS - Patients at Ye Old Thatch, an isolation and quarantine facility in Beaufort West, had only positive comments regarding their stay.
By going into quarantine or isolation at one of the facilities offered by the Western Cape Government Health and partners, patients can comfortably recover without posing a risk to their loved ones’ health.
Cornelius Elbrink (42): “I was concerned for my families health and decided to isolate. I was initially the only person but soon more arrived. I really enjoyed it here. The atmosphere was good for healing. One day I would like to bring my family here for a holiday.”
It can be a challenge to separate yourself from others if you were in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, if you are awaiting COVID-19 test results or if you have tested positive. If your living circumstances makes it difficult for you to stay separated for up to 14 days or if you share a space with people with underlying chronic conditions, you should use a dedicated quarantine/isolation facility to protect your loved ones.
Koos Willemse (51) also wanted to protect his family and came to the facility to isolate. “I wanted to protect my family. I felt at home and really enjoyed the peace and quiet,” he said.
Asanda Mdwara (35) and Yolandi Stalmeester (32) are a couple from Laingsburg. “We were happy to come here especially after stigmatization in our community,” they said.
