Gareth Cliff makes official return to Idols

NATIONAL NEWS - Idols judge Gareth Cliff will make his official return to the show this week after winning a high court application for his reinstatement.

Cliff was sacked by broadcaster M-Net for tweeting that people don’t understand free speech in response to Penny Sparrow’s racist Facebook post, a move that caused public outrage.

Now, he and the broadcaster appear to have made up as they kick off for the 12th season of the talent search show.

Cliff says he’s excited to return to Idols and meet this season’s contestants.

“I am pretty much convinced that this could only make the show that much more interesting.”
