NATIONAL NEWS - Renowned conservationist, adventurer and Discovery Channel presenter Dingo (Graham) Dinkelman has died.
Dinkelman, who was passionate about wildlife, succumbed to a snake bite while doing what he loved most – working to protect and preserve the world’s most vulnerable wildlife.
The Upper Highway resident, who had a massive following on social media, was bitten by a Green Mamba four weeks ago and went into anaphylactic shock and was rushed to hospital. After being in ICU and in an induced coma, he succumbed to the effects on Saturday.
The public and his friends and fellow creators have taken to social media to honour and offer condolences to the family.
A fellow creator and friend, Dav Kaufman, posted on Facebook yesterday, saying: “Very sad day. I just learnt that as of a couple of hours ago, fellow creator and friend Dingo Dinkelman succumbed to the bite of a Green Mamba.
He fought so hard for so long. But having an allergic reaction to the venom and going into anaphylactic shock, placing him in a coma for weeks, was just too much even for the strongest of us. You’ll be very missed, my friend.”
His wife, Kirsty, posted and said: “His presence has brought so much warmth, love, passion and laughter to our lives, as well as to all of those who knew him, loved him and supported him.
“We love you, Dingo, and we will always celebrate your incredible impact on each of our lives.”
