The minister provided a briefing in Pretoria on the state of readiness for the year following meetings with the sector.
Nzimande says that no Nsfas qualifying student will be turned away from an institution if they are unable to pay the registration fee.
“Nsfas has already paid R1.6 billion to our 26 public university’s and TVT colleges and advance payment for registration fees for students from disadvantaged backgrounds so that they can be admitted for their 2017 studies without upfront payment.”
