NATIONAL NEWS - A Zimbabwean-style land invasion threat has gripped the close-knit community of Seven Tanks after several incidents of violence including a petrol bomb attack was made on the lives of the residents who are living in the area.
“We have been targeted and fear for our lives. On Sunday night, I heard a loud noise and we realised thereafter that our home was on fire.
All the necessary authorities came to the area and the situation was under control. We were told that we have to move out, however, we have nowhere to go.
All of us living in Seven Tanks have been born here. Now during our golden years, we have to pack up our belongings and flee our homes,” said an aging 71-year-old Githa Ramnarain, a pioneer resident in the area.
