NATIONAL NEWS - The Mangaung Metro Municipality (MMM) has extended its condolences to the family of a child who died in a tragic incident involving a water truck in Ward 33, Botshabelo, reports Bloemfontein Courant.
In a statement, the municipality said the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation and that it is fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities to establish the facts.
“It would therefore be inappropriate to speculate on the cause of the incident until the investigation has been concluded,” the municipality said.
MMM added that it will review all relevant safety protocols and operational procedures and implement any necessary corrective measures based on the findings of the investigation.
“Further information will be provided as it becomes available and once the appropriate processes have been completed,” the statement concluded.
