“We’re obviously disappointed for Wayne but happy that he has chosen to take responsibility for his actions and be proactive by involving us every step of the way,” says Algoa FM Operations Director Alfie Jay.
Wayne Hart says: “Friends, I made a mistake. I have learned my lesson. I would like to thank the SAPS for doing their job. They are not the enemy, they are there to look after us.”
Algoa FM will not be bringing any disciplinary action against Hart, who should be back on air tomorrow. (Monday 30 November 2015.) Whilst Algoa FM does not have a specific policy dealing with the arrest of any of it's staff or contracted personnel, Jay said: “we apply ourselves circumstantially and consistently. We act responsibly toward the very people we have contracted in good faith and we allow the law to take its course.”
Hart added: “I would like to urge my fellow motorists to consider that if we drink and drive, it is not just irresponsible but also dangerous.”
