MOTORING NEWS - The multi-award winning Peugeot 3008 SUV was named Drive360's Family Car of the Year at a ceremony held in Rosebank on Friday last week.
The judging panel praised the 3008 SUV's striking new exterior, class-leading cabin, superior materials and outstanding design.
The SUV beat worthy competitors such as the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Elantra, Toyota C-HR and VW Golf GTD.
Each year, after test-driving all the new vehicles launched in South Africa during the year, Independent Media's team of motoring journalists honour their best vehicles, including best compact car, adventure vehicle, luxury car, family car and performance car categories and also an overall winner.
"We are proud of the acknowledgement given to the Peugeot 3008 SUV," said Francisco Gaie, MD of Peugeot Citroen South Africa.
"The 3008 SUV truly sets itself apart with its combination of eye-catching design, comfort and user-friendliness."
"Peugeot have put a lot of thought into the new design of the 3008 SUV. It fits perfectly with the modern lifestyle and is making its presence felt in the intensely competitive SUV segment."
In keeping with the family-friendly nature of the compact SUV segment, the Peugeot 3008 seriously pushes the parameters when it comes to safety technology.
Active safety brake and distance alert delivers autonomous braking to prevent frontal collisions and a lane departure warning system will alert you if you stray from your chosen lane without indicating.
There is also an innovative driver alert warning system that notices driver fatigue and provides a warning when you need a rest.
