MOTORING NEWS - The launch of the new Nissan Micra Active could inspire a powerful feeling of "Fear Of Missing Out" (FOMO), but Nissan SA would like to allay any such anxiety people may be experiencing by assuring them the new Nissan Micra Active is indeed being launched this month.
The spiffy new version can be referred to as an upgrade of the current Micra, but Nissan regards it as a very significant upgrade - much more than a "nip and tuck" version of the current model.
Nissan strongly hints at a particular feature of the new Micra Active, which you won't find on other cars in the lower B Hatchback segment - but we'll all just have to wait for the launch to find out the details. They assured the media and public it would be worth the wait - which replaced anxiety with curiosity!
Once the little nipper is available, South Africans won't miss out on a fantastic, competitively-priced hatchback, which offers the following:
A class-leading three year or 90 000km service plan and a six year or 150 000km warranty
A redesigned exterior plus stylish interior improvements. The latter include new front fenders, a refreshed instrument panel and Bluetooth-enabled audio system
All in all, we can expect great value for money with low running costs, good fuel efficiency and a competitively-priced parts basket. As with the current Micra, it looks to be a practical, yet stylish update that will make the new Micra Active look and feel more connected with the road.
A wide range of accessories were specifically designed and manufactured by Nissan to allow buyers to personalise their new rides with peace of mind.
The new Nissan Micra Active retains the 1,2-litre petrol engine that develops a healthy 56kW and 104Nm. Plans are to launch it locally during September with the vehicle itself available from Nissan dealers after 22 September.
Buyers in the market for a trend-setting, sporty and agile hatchback should appease their "FOMO" by waiting just a while longer.
The new Nissan Micra Active looks like it's rearing to go.
