MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The youth of Mossel Bay are invited to unite in prayer on Saturday, 26 October at Harry Giddey Park from 16:30 to 18:30.
The prayers will cover:
- The youth of Mossel Bay
- The youth of South Africa as a whole
- The crisis of violence against women and children
- National leaders and government
- Violence and crime locally and nationally
The executive mayor of Mossel Bay, Alderman Harry Levendal, will also be addressing the youth.
A spokesperson for the prayer day said: "We want to encourage the youth to make a change for themselves. We have been seeing older generations praying for us, and think it is time for our generation to rise and pray for themselves."
The event is being organised by an online women's movement called God's Daughters Against Abuse. The initiative was started by Danelle Vingtas, a young woman from Mossel Bay, to inform people about various forms of abuse and to act as a support system for victims and survivors of abuse of any kind.
