MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A former Mossel Bay resident lost her wedding ring at the Poort swimming spot at The Point, Mossel Bay, and would be extremely grateful if it were found and returned to her.
Valerie Swart, aged 92, lost the white gold ring several years ago, but she still has hope that it will turn up.
The ring has the musical notes of the wedding march, "Here comes the bride," on it and the date Valerie was married, 16 November 1957.
Valerie told Mossel Bay Advertiser she had read on the Advertiser website about people's rings being found over the years, often by people with metal detectors, so this inspired her to contact the Advertiser about her own ring.
She said: "I had the most wonderful husband. His name was Cor."
She continued: "All my five children were a gift from Jesus. None of them was planned and none of them was an accident."
The couple and their children lived in the landmark round house, overlooking Santos Beach.
It can be seen as one looks up to the right, while driving past Santos Beach in George Road, as one approaches the Mossel Bay town centre.
If you have seen Valerie's ring, call 011 476 7269 or 073 649 5671. There is no photograph of the ring, but it is easy to identify because of the musical notes on it.
