MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Police and other emergency crews are searching for Marie Brisley, a 54-year-old woman from Benoni who was last seen in Mossel Bay yesterday morning (Wednesday 18 October).
Brisley and her friend, James Thompson arrived in Mossel Bay on vacation on Tuesday 17 October and booked into their accommodation at Fair View Street in Pinnacle Point Estate.
On Wednesday 18 October at approximately 10:30, Brisley went for a walk.
James remained behind as he was tired of a walking trip the previous day.
He told the police that he went to sleep and when he woke up at 13:00 he realised Brisley had not yet returned home. He prepared lunch for the two of them and became worried when Brisley did not return.
At approximately 15:00 he made enquiries at the Pinnacle Point security guards and visited the casino to look for Brisley but could not trace her.
At approximately 21:30, Thompson asked the security control room of the Pinnacle Point estate to contact the police.
A search party was established consisting of eight police officials and eight members from Mossel Bay NSRI sea rescued unit.
They searched the areas from the Point up to Pinnacle Point but without any success.
Warrant Officer Malherbe of the Outeniqua K9 unit in George will today assist with his search and rescue dog.
A Joint Operations Centre was established.
The investigating officer is Sergeant Campher (044 606 5600) of the KwaNonqaba Police.
