MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 30-year-old woman, Matseliso Masito, a Lesotho citizen living in Durban, was arrested at a garage near Voorbaai, Mossel Bay, on Friday 17 April after allegedly being found in possession of 72.5kg marijuana at an estimated value of just over R241 000.
A Southern Cape Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, said the K9 Langeberg Unit had acted on some information and pulled over a passenger bus on its way from Durban to Cape Town at the garage.
They conducted a search and their K9 narcotics detection dog responded to three suitcases, allegedly belonging to the suspect. In these, they found compressed marijuana.
Masito was arrested on a charge of dealing in drugs and appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court on Monday 20 April. The matter was postponed to Friday 24 April, for a formal bail application.
