MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay's Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit investigator, Warrant Officer Alistair Rezant, was awarded the province's FCS Employee of the Year Award for Level 5-7 at the Western Cape Police Excellence Awards on Saturday, 18 January.
Rezant, who has received awards recognising his thorough work, commitment and dedication to the unit and the victims he works with, said Saturday's award was his first provincial one.
He said although he had known he was a nominee, he had not expected to win, and was surprised when he was announced as the provincial FCS employee of the year.
Rezant began his career in the police force on 27 May 1989, 36 years ago.
On 1 October 2003, he became one of three officers at the Mossel Bay FCS Unit.
He said his passion for children, helping the vulnerable and giving a voice to the voiceless are what spurred him on in his career.
