MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A non-profit organisation, Heart-to-Heart, has an English literacy programme, helping Mossel Bay children to improve their reading.
Heart-to-Heart’s English Literacy Centre was launched on Mandela Day, 18 July 2019.
The reading programme provides individual support to Grade 2 learners to strengthen their English reading, writing and language skills, while spurring a love for reading.
Volunteers do one-on-one sessions with learners.
Heart-to-Heart invites people to "join our amazing team of volunteers".
It notes: "All that is required is your love for children and the ability to read, speak and write English. We will equip you with all the necessary skills and provide the material.
"All you need is some free time - an hour or two on a Monday or Thursday morning."
