MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 39-year-old man has been released from custody with a warning to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on 9 April after he was charged with failure to comply with the instructions of a traffic officer.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp said the man was arrested yesterday, 27 February.
The case was opened at the Da Gamaskop Police Station. The incident relates to a video that was shared on social media yesterday, showing an altercation between two traffic officers and a man.
The incident occurred on the N2 near the off-ramp to Mossel Bay at the Langeberg Mall.
The Provincial Traffic chief for Mossel Bay, Reinet Sarikakis confirmed that a provincial traffic officer opened the case.
The events leading up to the altercation and subsequent arrest remain unclear at this stage.
