DANA BAY NEWS - Dana Bay Neighbourhood Watch hosted a mass patrol to mark the start of the holiday season on 14 December.
The patrollers gathered in the parking area of the Dana Tool, Paint & Hardware shop, off Flora Road, at 17:00. There were 22 vehicles and 19 neighbourhood watch members.
Joining the mass patrol were three members of M Sec Security and two Kilo-9 Security Services members, Mossel Bay executive mayor Dirk Kotzé, ward councillor Nickey le Roux and an officer from the KwaNonqaba Police Station.
Dana Bay Neighbourhood Watch's Otto Ploog said eight vehicles and 16 neighbourhood watch members then left the gathering point and proceeded to conduct high-visibility patrols from 19:00 until 07:00 the next day, covering a total of 205km.
Ploog thanked all those involved and said it was a highly successful mass patrol.
