Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Due to protest action in KwaNonqaba today, 23 August several roads have been closed and traffic diverted. Traffic is particularly slow on the N2 and Louis Fourie Road.
Motorists are requested to be patient and mindful to obey traffic rules.
A threat of stoning on the N2 has been dealt with by the SAPS Public Order Policing Unit (POPS).
Roads that remain closed: Mayixhale Street to Voorbaai; Casino Road to Essenhout Street (Louis Fourie); Sampson Street; Bill Jeffrey Avenue.
The SAPS Public Policing Unit arrived at the scene and engaged the protesters. Some of the affected areas have been declared safe for cleaning operations to commence.
Updates on road closures will follow. A multi-disciplinary is still at the Joint Operation Centre for ongoing monitoring of the situation.
