MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Two men were fatally stabbed in two separate incidents in KwaNonqaba in the early hours of yesterday, 27 July.
The KwaNonqaba Police have arrested one suspect for one of the murders. The station’s spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, said an arrest is imminent in the other.
The first incident took place in Hector Avenue, Asla Park, at about 04:40 on Sunday morning.
Kapp said the police were called out to the scene of an altercation, and upon their arrival, they found a 29-year-old man dead in the street, with stab wounds to his neck and back. The emergency medical services declared him dead on the scene.
Kapp said an arrest is imminent and the circumstances surround the stabbing are under investigation.
The victim’s identity is known to Mossel Bay Advertiser, but cannot be shared until his next of kin have been informed.
At about 05:30 on Sunday, the KwaNonqaba Police were called out to the Mossel Bay Provincial Hospital where a man (22) had been brought in with multiple stab wounds to his body. He later died there from them.
Kapp said preliminary investigations suggest there had been an altercation between the victim and another man at about 04:00 that morning, after which the suspect stabbed the victim.
The suspect, a 21-year-old man, has since been arrested and is expected to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, 29 July.
