MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - The Da Gamaskop police confirmed that two bathers apprehended by members of the Langeberg K9 Dog Unit at Diaz Beach today, were given a stern warning and instructed to go home as per the national lock down regulations.
Fines will be issued as a result of this transgression.
“During our patrols today we have found a great ignorance among members of the community. People think that this is a joke, but we can assure you that the police will take action against anyone in contravention of the law regarding the lockdown,” Capt Wollie Fourie, spokesperson of the Da Gamaskop police said upon enquiry.
Captain Fourie could not yet confirm the deployment of the public order policing unit. He referred the enquiry to South Cape SAPS spokesperson, Capt Malcolm Pojie. The Mossel Bay Advertiser is awaiting Capt Pojie’s response.
