MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Fifth Annual Thusong Service Centre Week takes place this week. In Mossel Bay the Thusong Service Centre Outreach will take place from 19 - 20 September from 08:00-15:00 at the Thusong Centre in Adriaans Road, Asla Park.
Various government departments and services will participate, such as the Road Accident Fund (RAF); Government Employee Pension Fund; Departments of Labour; Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries; Home Affairs; Social Development; the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa); Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID); as well as services from the Thusong Library, Cape Access, Piet Julies HIV/Aids Action Group, Heart-2-Heart, Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), Local Economic Development (LED), PetroSA, South Cape College, Mossel Bay Correctional Services and the South African Revenue Service (Sars).
Transport
Clients from the rural areas such as Buisplaas, Herbertsdale and Vleesbaai will be transported to the Thusong Centre on 19 September from 07:00 and Friemersheim, Great Brak River, Jonkersberg, Sonskynvallei on 20 September from 07:00.
Entrepreneurs are invited to set up stalls at the Centre at no cost. Food stalls are not allowed.

Thusong Service Centres are one-stop centres for access to government services and information to potential sponsors and stakeholders across all spheres of government.
“We aim to ensure that through Integrated Mobile Outreach Services and other Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) platforms, government will maximize the reach and access to government services, during Thusong Service Centre Week,” said Communications Minister Nomvula Mokonyane.
On Monday, government will mark the beginning of the Fifth Annual Thusong Service Centre Week.
The 2018 Annual Thusong Service Centre Week takes place in conjunction with the Public Service Month, under the theme: “Thuma Mina, Taking Public Service to the People: We Belong, We Care, We Serve”.
The 2018 Thusong Centre Service week activities will be celebrated in line with the centenary of the life of former President Nelson Mandela, under the theme: “Be the Legacy”.
To celebrate the life and contributions of Albertina Sisulu, Thusong Dialogues will be implemented at identified Thusong Service Centres.
The Thusong programme has been reaching about six million beneficiaries every year. During 2017, a total of 74 activities were implemented.
