MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A taxi and a police vehicle collided in Bill Jeffery Street, Mossel Bay last night, 14 April at about 19:00.
According to police spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies, the driver of the taxi (31) fled the scene, but turned himself in at the Da Gamaskop Police Station this morning, where he was arrested.
Three on-duty police officials, who were in the police vehicle, sustained minor injuries. They were taken to a nearby medical facility for further care, said Spies.
The police officials, attached to the Mossel Bay Sea Border Unit, were all discharged later.
The taxi driver is set to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court in June.
According to Spies, the cause of the accident is yet to be established and Da Gamaskop Police have opened a case of reckless and negligent driving.
