MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay Municipality has released a statement, urging motorists to be aware of roadwork from Thursday, 26 September to Thursday, 10 October.
• Both lanes on the N2 to Louis Fourie Road, at the traffic lights at the Engen garage, leading towards Mossel Bay will be closed from Thursday, 26 September, until Saturday, 29 September. Traffic will be diverted on to the opposite lane. There will be a restricted flow of traffic, but no stoppages.
• The on-ramp to the N2 (George/ Great Brak River), where the N2 becomes Louis Fourie Road, leading towards Heiderand, will be completely closed to traffic travelling towards George from Friday, 27 September, to Monday, 30 September. Traffic will be diverted to the alternative off-ramp to George nearer to the Dana Bay bridge. There will be a restricted flow, but no stoppages.
• The N2 to Louis Fourie Road (Dana Bay traffic lights to Engen garage): Both traffic lanes leading away from the Dana Bay traffic lights in the direction of Cape Town will be closed to traffic from Monday, 30 September, until Thursday, 3 October. Traffic will be diverted on to the opposite lanes which will be completed on 29 September. There will be a restricted flow of traffic, but no stoppages.
Image: Mossel Bay Municipality• The ramp carrying traffic from the George/Great Brak River direction under the Dana Bay bridge and back on to the N2 near the Engen garage will be partially closed from Tuesday, 1 October, to Friday, 4 October. It will be partially closed again from Monday, 7 October, to Thursday, 10 October. There will be a restricted flow of traffic, but no stoppages.
• The on-ramp to the N2 for motorists driving from Dana Bay or Heiderand to George/Great Brak River will be completely closed to traffic from Thursday, 3 October, to Sunday, 6 October. Alternative access to the N2 near the Engen Garage will be provided by means of a Stop-Go operation on Louis Fourie Road. There will be a restricted traffic flow, with some stoppages.
• The off-ramp for traffic travelling from George/Great Brak and wishing to turn off the N2 to Dana Bay (Exit 387) will be completely closed for all vehicle traffic from Monday, 7 October, to Wednesday, 9 October . Motorists intending to travel to Dana Bay or the Heiderand area from the N2 are requested to use either Louis Fourie Road through Voorbaai and Santos Bay, or Mayixhale Street through KwaNonqaba.
Mossel Bay Municipality has requested road users to comply with the relevant warning signs and speed restrictions on the road during this time, and they are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly. The closures are dependent on the weather and the dates may be altered to accommodate this.
