MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The 8th consecutive Mossel Bay Sport & Recreation Festival was officially opened tonight.
The executive mayor, Alderman Harry Levendal welcomed the representatives of the more than 40 participating sporting clubs and the various sponsors.
He invited all people of the greater Mossel Bay and surrounding towns to participate in the MossMarch and to support the various competitions as spectators.
He stressed that the aim of the festival is to promote healthier individuals and communities.
The festival will also serve to bring communities together and to enhance a sence of place and pride. Keynote speaker Kabamba Floors echoed mayor Levendal's statement that sport unites people.
