MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Garden Route SPCA Mossel Bay branch has made an urgent appeal to the community for donations of cat litter and soft dog food.

According to a Facebook post by the SPCA, the Mossel Bay branch has many cats and cat litter is running short.

The SPCA said in another post that it is also in urgent need of soft dog food as their supplies are running low.

"Every donation will make a massive impact in keeping our puppies happy and healthy," read the post.

"The soft texture of the food makes it easy on tender, new teeth and smaller mouths. Since it also contains liquid that nutritionally dense, dry foods lack, it also provides extra hydration.

"Changing puppies over to dry food is also made easier because you mix the wet and dry food together. Mixing them combines the benefit of helping to maintain healthy teeth and good urinary tract health."

The SPCA noted that any contribution will help and make a difference.
