MOSSEL BAY NEWS and VIDEO - There is always a joyful atmosphere at Siyanithanda Children's Care Centre in KwaNonqaba, but on Friday, despite the cold, there was even more so, thanks to a special visit during which an extremely welcome donation was made.
Clive Rossouw and Lynné Nortjé from Totalgaz visited the centre, where disabled children are given care and nutrious meals, to donate kitchen equipment and educational toys.
Apart from this, each child received their own parcel with goodies, made up according to their gender and age. Sharing in one another's joy as they were called to the front to receive the parcels, there were many smiles and raucous applause until the very last parcel was in the arms of its owner.
Even staff members were treated to a gift bag. Afterwards, a meal was shared.
"We have been involved with the centre for about a year now. So many good things are resulting from the existence of this place. We believe that it is blessed and it is our privilege to be able to help in any way we can," Rossouw said.
Totalgaz made a substantial donation to Siyanithanda Children;s Care Centre on Friday.
Danny Saayman, the chair of the centre's governing body, said every bit of help towards service delivery at the centre, is most appreciated.
"The children spend their entire day here; they only sleep at home. We are most grateful towards PetroSA that sponsored the new centre.
"The children love it here."
