MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Silver Cloud cruise ship arrived in Mossel Bay today at about 07:00.
It is anchored off Santos Beach.
According to www.cruisemapper.com, the ship is on a one-way cruise from Walvis Bay to Port Elizabeth and it is set to arrive in Port Elizabeth on 4 April.
Its current 12-day cruise started on 23 March.
It looks to be a beautiful day in Mossel Bay with the maximum temperature expected being 32C and the minimum, 19C. A light breeze is forecast for today.
The Silver Cloud was built in 1994. It sails under the flag of the Bahamas.
It has a guest capacity of 254 and a crew capacity of 212. The ship is owned by Silversea, an ultra-luxury and expedition travel company, with headquarters in Monaco.
The Silver Cloud can carry 17 400 tons and is 155m long.
On the internet, one cruise booking company quoted the current cruise as costing from US$8 950 and another company quoted the cruise price as starting from US$12109.
The itinerary of the current cruise is Walvis Bay, Luderitz in Namibia, Langebaan, Cape Town, Hermanus, Mossel Bay, East London and then ship the turns back to Port Elizabeth.
The ship is scheduled to leave Mossel Bay at 20:00 today and head for East London. It is scheduled to arrive in East London at 06:00 on Tuesday, 2 April.
