MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Shoes of Hope initiative was rolled out in primary schools in the Garden Route area this week.
The Speaker of the Western Cape provincial parliament and ward representatives, in collaboration with Youth4LifeSA and Samaritan's Feet SA are visiting eight schools in the area, where thousands of shoes are being distributed.
The initiative is about more than just providing shoes. The aim is to connect with the children and plant a seed of hope.
Yesterday, 16 November, at Garden Route Primary School in Asla Park, 500 children received not only shoes, but had their feet washed and massaged while chatting to the "washers" about their hopes and dreams for the future.
