MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Da Gamaskop Police have arrested seven suspects in connection with four cases of robbery that took place along Louis Fourie Road between 19 March last year and 5 February this year.
These arrests are thanks to the hard work of Da Gamaskop detectives and the Crime Prevention Unit, in partnership with the Mossel Bay Municipality.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies said a 29-year-old suspect was set to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court yesterday, 6 March, on a robbery charge.
The suspect was allegedly involved in a robbery that took place on Louis Fourie Road on Saturday, 8 February, this year.
Spies said a cyclist, Ockert Maritz, had been riding along the road in the area between Dias and De Bakke at about 08:15 when he was accosted by two men.
He sustained bruises and suspected at the time that one or two of his ribs had been cracked during the robbery.
The police found some of the two suspects’ belongings on the scene.
Mossel Bay Advertiser reported on the robbery at the time.
The outcome of the court appearance was not known at the time of publishing.
Spies said investigations into the four robbery cases are ongoing.
