MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A section of Henning Way in Island View will be closed due to construction that was due to start today, Wednesday 15 April.
Henning Way is the road into Island View from Aalwyn Way near Langeberg Mall.
The Mossel Bay Municipality issued a notice saying it had appointed Zutari as consulting engineers and Actophambili Roads as the contractor for the rehabilitation and reseal works.
It said the scope of works includes the following:
• installation of stormwater network
• construction of catch pits and manholes
• installation of new kerbs
• removal of the existing paving blocks
• construction of new road layer works
• placing of 40mm thick asphalt surfacing.
The following arrangements regarding the accommodation of traffic will be applicable:
• Construction commenced today, 15 April, and will be completed by 30 May.
• A section of Henning Way will be closed during construction, and residents will make use of the proposed diversion through Brand Road. This is a gravel road, but will be graded before use and maintained during construction to ensure safe travel by users.

The municipality further said should inclement weather be experienced, work will be postponed without further notice and executed on the first available opportunity.
