MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The SA Council of Business Women Mossel Bay branch held its awards on Tuesday, 19 September.

The winners were: Vicky-Lyn Keet - Business Woman of the Year Ambassador for Mossel Bay; Tarina Els - Rising Star; Megan Swart - Social Warrior; and Tersia Marais - Community Warrior.

Marais won her award for the sterling work she has done over the years, founding and working on the Stranded Marine Animal Rescue Team (S.M.A.R.T.)

The group of volunteers has played pivotal role in all sorts of strandings, from turtles, to seabirds, to whales.

Well-known television actress Nadia Valvekens was the guest speaker at the awards.

Respected animal conservationist Tersia Marais was rewarded for her years of tireless hard work in marine bird and animal rescue at the SACBW Mossel Bay branch awards.
