GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT NEWS - Road construction works will take place from January 2022 to November 2022.
The roads affected in the George Municipality jurisdiction are the R404 (George Airport Road) through Blanco from the circle near Fancourt (km 4.22) to the R102 intersection (km 9.34) near George Airport as well as the N9/N12 (Outeniqua Pass) to Oudtshoorn from Plantation Road intersection (km 2.97) up to the R404 intersection to Blanco (km 6.40).

The safety and convenience of the travelling public are of utmost importance and every effort will be made to ensure that all temporary road signs, flagmen and speed controls are maintained and are effective, and that courtesy will always be extended to the public.
The public is requested to be patient, to adhere to speed limits, and obey all temporary road signs which have been put in place to ensure the safety of road users and construction workers.
The Department apologises for any disruptions and inconveniences caused by the construction works; and thanks the public for understanding and their cooperation.
The completion of the project will result in short-term direct investment in the local communities and economy – as well as the long-term benefit of safe and comfortable road infrastructure.
