MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Calm has returned to a vacant piece of land where several residents earlier today attempted to mark out plots where they intended to settle illegally.
At present, according to police feedback, the situation is being monitored by municipal law enforcement officials.
About 8 people remain in the area and appear to be clearing tracts of land. Today's incident follows earlier attempts at land grab in this area.
Residents of Elangeni in KwaNonqaba attempted to settle on an empty stretch of land on Freedom Day, Wednesday 27 April.
A week prior to that an attempt at land grab was also thwarted. Reports that the people involved today became unruly could not be confirmed.
At present no structures have been erected.
